Is it on the newsletter? Until that is on the AWIN newsletter it's just maybe. They will announce it as all users that interop with ASP, aka almost everyone need that information, and will need to adjust accordingly. Arkansas is not as screw everyone as other states are. See what happened in Mississippi when MHP went E without working with everyone... It got kaibashed on primary dispatch by the State Sheriff's Association writing letters and goit to the media.

Nothing in writing yet. Therefore it's just conjecture. As I said, until they put it on the newsletter it's not happening.

I just asked an attorney for the State Police. And some counties in Arkansas are fully encrypted to the public. I know my county is still after my county judge, sheriff told me it wasn't.

When you catch up to the reality and read what you posted again you will calm down and think about it. Stop being panicked so easily. The thing you posted says not in writing yet. In other words it's not officially happening. ASP will notify all AWIN users of that kind of change if they officially decide to do it. Your off to the races and the track isn't built yet.

Also look at history
The state radio system in its trunked form exists solely due to ASP to begin with. They built out the original statewide 800 mhz trs that was upgraded and expanded to become AWIN

At this time the plans are to encrypt all ASP TG with AES-256. There's a lot of heat from many ASP brass and state agencies outside of the plaza building to not encrypt the *-dispatch. Many of us are thinking the heat will win.

The agency is not required to notify AWIN if they are going to use encryption. AWIN does not get the encryption keys, either. AWIN is responsible for providing the TG and RID.

If the brass is actually putting up a fight, that is usually a big tell. Thanks for clarification of being a plan not written in stone. Still won't go into effect without literally every AWIN user being informed, even if it's all except dispatch. Most of the other TG should be encrypted such as CID, CACD, TAC etc. ASP has always been pretty transparent and played well with most other agencies. Again, unlikmany other states.

Also been told Helena West Helena went to AWIN but I haven't found their channel. I been listening to AWIN and haven't heard troop e or f on my end and I have been no tiring it since 5 pm.
