Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Is the ASTRO Spectra capable of using a different PL one for RX than it is for TX.

I have a local amateur radio repeater system with a remote receive site. I need to TX on with a PL of 162.2 to get into the remote receiver but I need to RX with a PL tone of 156.7 to hear the transmitter. I can hear the transmitter just fine with MONITOR ON. Turn it to MONITOR OFF and the busy light stays on but the speaker goes quiet.

I am also experiencing this when on the correct channel to transmit and listen directly to the repeater, not through a remote receive site. In other words i'm listening and talking on a repeater that listens for and transmits with a PL tone of 156.7.

What's even more confusing is that there is another repeater near by that I have programmed in the EXACT same way (with the exception of proper frequency and tones) and it works great!

I have set up my Kenwood D710, V71 and D72 to use CTCSS when listening on the main repeater channel and they work just fine I seem to only be having this issue with a ASTRO Spectra.

Is there something i'm missing or should try?

Thank you all in advance for your time and assistance.

Yes. The Astro Spectra can do split PL/DPL. You can transmit a tone (PL) / digital code (DPL) that is different than the receive tone (PL) / digital code (DPL) and vice versa.

Go to the personality and it should be on the same view as the RX and TX frequencies. Drop down boxes.
