We tested FirstNet here and we were not impressed. For every talkgroup from our LMR system, we had to provide a radio to connect to their gateway. We tested FirstNet and L3Harris' BeOn and the latter was much better. AT&T does not have good coverage in our area and BeOn works with any LTE provider. I get it with AT&T giving priority on Band 14, but if your device does not have service, all the priority in the world is not going to help.

The state of CA today is building a new statewide P25 system ("C.R.I.S")
Kinda reaffirms that LMR isn't even close to going away with FirstNet (especially with AT&T's swiss cheese coverage of CA).

I use both FirstNet and LMR. In my area, both provide good coverage but, I have to reset my phone often because FirstNet will intermittently lock up my device. My LMR has never failed me.
