I used to listen to Atlanta and Dekalb trunked systems when they were analog using a BC895 and I upgraded to a BCD996XT recently. I can't hear anything from ATL or Dekalb, but MARTA and the federal trunked systems come in crystal clear. Fulton comes in pretty well also. The antenna I'm using is the same that I was using before. I live south of the city near Newnan. So does anyone know if they moved their transmitter sites or something like that? Any tips? I downloaded the settings from RR directly to the scanner using freescan.

Let me put it this way, I live just east of Marietta and I cannot hear Atlanta reliably anymore, and cannot hear Dekalb at all.

Just like rmiller818, I'm not too far from him and can't get a thing on Atlanta and/or DeKalb. Unfortunately, you are out of range, unless you can get an antenna up around 200'!

Thanks for the info. At least I know it isn't my radio or antenna system. I wonder if they reduced their power or something. I will miss hearing the action.

You will definitely get anything on the Fulco or MARTA system due to everything in South Fulton. Sad thing is, 800 MHz doesn't have the have the skip of a good old VHF system!

yes Mike, but remember "you see, digital radios help us get to you faster! you see, when you call 911 from your celphone..." (quote from a top Cobb county government official circa 2005)
