Greetings-

I found a new patch-ID today on the Aurora TRS: AFS 00-011. It was used to patch the APD District 1 and 2 channels together for a hot call.

I wondered why my patch group has been quiet lately. . seems the patch IDs 1-4 (00-001, 00-002, 00-003, 00-004) aren't being used for the PD patches much lately. . haven't heard them used in a month or more (granted, I'm not monitoring 24x7 though).

Sweet! Thanks for this info, Dan! I see they just now used patch-ID 00-013! Do you know if these patch IDs 1-15 are mostly used by public safety?

BTW - in another thread you'd mentioned Steve's Trunking Logs site. . I wonder if this info came from there. . I have to admit to being mostly dormant on this forum. . so I'm not familiar with that resource - would you mind share the details? I did a couple quick forum-searches and didn't find anything straight-away.

Again- THANKS! Putting in all 15 in my "patches" group/deparment, etc.!

Mike, you are right about some of those patches 1-4 not being used in a while.

Patch TG-1 was last used on December 10, 2013 at 9:47 am for an APD radio check (patched D1, D2, and Admin Services TGs).

Patch TG-2 was actually used a couple days ago though, on March 1st at 9:07 pm (high priority transmission for DART-12).

Patch TG-3 was last used on February 12th at 9:59 am (information on APD-111 spotting a Dodge Stratus which had pointed a gun at someone and preparing to conduct a felony stop on it).

Patch TG-4 was last used on February 12th at 5:51 pm (high priority transmission for APD-213)

I actually just checked Steve's Trunking Logs website to see if we had labeled those TGs and they are not yet labeled as such. I could have sworn I had labeled those but I think it was the Denver patch TGs I had labeled on there. Steve can PM you with more info about the website.

Yes these 15 patch TGs are used for Public Safety (most, if not all for APD).

Also, here are the patch TGs for Denver:

These are listed in RR:

Ok - great details here, thanks again, Dan. Scanning patch-IDs is my "go-to" method when I need quiet time, but not so quiet that I don't mind being interrupted by something critical.

Yes, only listening to those is one way to only hear the critical stuff on Aurora.

It would be like that on Denver if they weren't always patching DPD district TGs together for dispatcher relief. But listening to only the Denver CityWide Simulcast TG yields the same outcome most of the time. They have used their patch TGs for a citywide alert (instead of the CityWide Simulcast TG) a few times but it is not that common.

Agreed.
For Denver I like the AFS TGID 04-000 "DPD all call" - they are a little more liberal with the criteria for using this channel but it helps clue me in to the action. You and I might be talking about the same thing . . think they also call this TG " Simulcast. "

Yes it is the same. The officers and dispatchers call it "CityWide Simulcast".

Hey Mike, I don't know why I didn't remember before, but Aurora also has more patch TGs they use in the same way as 1 through 15.

These additional patch TGs are 257 through 269. They use these in the same way they use the others (for high priority transmission patches and any other patches they need).

I would definitely add those to the patch TGs you have already.

Sorry I took so long to mention these but I just heard one of those high priority transmissions on one of these and that got my memory jogged.

Ok awesome! Thanks for letting me know, I will add those in. My "patch" group has been quiet lately.
