Ok, I've decided, Since the RS stuff won't pick up the 700 mhz stuff and the 996t or GRE will, I'll get though maybe as early as Saturday this week, The next thing I need to know is which is best, the 996 or the PSR..AND Would you recommend the Handheld or the desktop, I just stuck the only mobile I had today in the truck and I love it..Therefore I have a small 16 channel Uniden in the living room for local but nothing other than myu 97 for anything else so I was kinda leaning toward the desktop version, I can't remember the number though..Any Particular place to purchase the GRE or 996? Which would be best? I'm ordering one by the weekend for sure though..

Btw, what part of AWIN is 700mhz? According to the RR database, troop C uses 800 mhz. Are there some other AWIN frequencies not listed on this site?

However airdorn, That is the ONLY location I see on 700 MHZ at this time, However, it would have to be in this area.I'm fixing to get a GRE PSR 500 THIS WEEK then I'll be in on it!

The reason the 700 MHz bands aren't more widely assigned in Arkansas, is that the FCC issued an order for all work on 700 MHz projects to be put on hold due to the realignment of the 700 Mhz band. You won't see any more of these freqs pop up until they get the situation resolved. Also, it's my understanding that these will be for data transmissions and not voice, which should continue in the current 800 band.
