I am still fairly green at programing scanners. I am not sure if the question I have is suitable for a location forum or a brand/model forum. I decided to try here first. I am in the Seattle area and I am programing the site frequencies on a Uniden BC246t. My question is, since the 014 site ( Capitol Hill backup) appears to have no control channel specified, is it best to add the frequencies to the 001 Seattle Simulcast system or program it as a completely different system ?

I prefer to program all the CC's and whatnot in to one system. Then let the scanner figure out which is the best CC to use.

The risk is however is that you may find one site does not have all the TG's on it. The benefit is that you will always get some type of radio coms.

I would imagine one of those frequencies listed under Site 14 is the CC for the site. You might even find that it uses the same CC as the main site and it is only utilized in the event the main site on Columbia Tower should go down. I'd just program that into a seperate bank (or Group) and let it scan till you find something. If you program in the Simulcast sites for all three systems, you will pretty much hear everything you want. I live on the far east side and have to use the KC/VC system and regularly listen to SPD on it. The only thing is that it does not always carry their traffic on the Precinct Tac channels but for the most part, I can hear everything going on there.

I just realized that the frequencies in the 014 Capitol Hill back-up are the same in the 001 Seattle Simulcast, minus a few, including the control channel frequency. Thank you for the responses.
