Ok been gone as I thought scanning Banks County was dead when they went NXDN now I read that you can scan using NXDN capable scanners..really I can get back to my old hobby?Can I actually hear BC sheriff like I used too?

Yes you can ! I just got the TRX 1. FYI I set up the area using the easyscan software not zip or address. That way I am listening to what I want. Zip scanners or scannermaster can do that for you if buy through them also if you don't like using software etc. Enjoy !

Excellent... for best results, you'll want to limit the scanning to the 1 (at most 2) sites that are closest to you - don't try to scan all of them....

Hey, been scanning and logging new tgid's. Noticed I have some tgid with 4 and 5 numbers..is that possibly or just a glitch? So far besides the one listed on RR database I have 48 Sheriff Dispatch,51 Sheriff Dispatch, 71 Fire EMS (?) , 74 fire EMS (?) 85 Sheriff Dispatch, 90 Fire EMS, 12597 & 19521 (? these are the weird ones) school, 8275 (another weird one) Sheriff Dispatch, 17481 unknown too short but freq was 453.506250 so Sheriff Dispatch?, and last one also a weird one is 38178 freq was 453.731250 so Sheriff Dispatch.

Don't know if these are correct but just some extra's I have found so far.Since talk groups and trunking are new to me I'm still learning.

On occasion, it seems the decodes have errors. I would only trust that a talkgroup or other data is correct if/when you see it over and over... not we when you only see it a once or even just a few times

I had a good search and rescue on 74 one day only dozens of hits then silent.

Whistler TRX-1 Manual Dragging a System Into A Scanlist

I am new to trunking; I have a new whistler TRX-1 and I am wanting to get my county listed as NXDN system when I install it per instructions it does not have a talkgroup associated with it. I did the add wildcard and got it to scan the system .it is only 4 frequencies counting the control channel.sometimes it will pickup one side of a conversation but not much and not very often. I did add the channels manually one day but that didn't work either... I thank you for any help....LARRY
