Barnegat PD going to 700 band

At last months Township meeting Barnegat approved to bond for the purchase of new mobile/portable radios for their police department.
Info from a reliable source that they are going 700 band. Unknown at this time if it 's going to be open. I tried to check FCC database for any pending/granted apps but I have no idea where to start. Too many variables ! Enjoy the rest of your weekend !

If they're only purchasing radios, they're almost certainly joining an existing system, so you're not going to find any new licenses. The county has a subsite just outside of the township which would provide excellent coverage. The state's nearest subsite for the Site 56 cell is further west just past Warren Grove, so not as ideal as the county system.

That makes complete sense. Barnegat PD is dispatched by Stafford Police through an agreement. Being Stafford is on the County System it only makes sense that Barnegat will migrate to it as well.
