Fremont city counsel approved $600,000 at their July meeting to purchase MARCS radios for the PD and Fire departments.
Currently both departments are on DMR radios. The fire department does have two MARCS radios in two of their trucks
They made this decision after the recent incidents where the family was killed on the train trestle and the shooting at the park.
Look for for new talk groups in the coming weeks or months.
