Welcome to the forum,

Except for digital, the BC780 should serve you well with your proximity to London, Chelmsford and Maidstone. At a fair price, I would recommend Butel Software for both programming and monitoring the scanner. This software can be found at http://www.butel.nl/

Based on the info provided, it appears you have a conventional system and have the base input frequency programmed but do not have the output repeater frequency. It's likely the mobiles are transmitting on another frequency into the same repeater output. If this is the case, you should be able to hear both sides on the output freq.

Well, you can always do it the old fashion way too. Create a search range and listen for the output frequency, if that is all you are getting is the input freq. The output frequency shouldn't be that far off from the input. I tried searching for those freqs and only came up with 452.8750, not even sure that is right.

How about this? 452.8750 - Input, 466.7750 - Output : Southend. There is a UK forum in here, if you didn't see it.
I found this link in there. http://www.scannerfreqs.co.uk/pol.htm

I think she has those entered and only hears the 452.8750 base, nothing on 466.7750 in return. I would think the mobiles must need a repeater to assure reaching the base. I suggested in pm, to try 5.000 above 452.8750.

Also provided this link, http://www.haydn.lyall.btinternet.co.uk/Essex_freqs.htm#Police The data is the same for Southend as your link. But the author has not verified the data.
