Battery Icon not showing..XTS 5000 display

Just bought a new battery for my XTS 5000 (model number is #NNTN4436B). However when I go to turn the radio on there is no battery indicator in the upper right corner. Not sure if I messed up the reconditioning part as when I first got the battery I put it in the charger without rapidly taking it out and putting it back in to initialize. However, once I reliazed that I forgot to do that, I waited until the battery was done charging and displayed a green light on the charger, and put it back in to do the reconditioning process. Just wondering if my battery is messed up now since I forgot to do that first step when I got it and is there a way to get the indicator back in the upper right.

If the battery is impres, make sure the reconditioning is successful. May need to try it again. If you still do not have any luck, the impres chip inside may be bad. I have had this occur with a couple Hi Cap APX batteries. Contact the seller and request a new battery if no luck.

I tell my users not to worry. The next time the Impres battery completes a reconditioning cycle (in an Impres charger) the icon will reappear.

it's also possible the IMPRES one wire chip has disabled itself, I've seen this on some IMPRES XTS batteries that were charged in non-IMPRES chargers and never properly initialized.

I've seen that as well and some it takes a act of christ endlessly to get them back again wanting to charge at all after someone decided to use older non impress chargers.

I've had some trbo batteries arrive NIB. As soon as I placed on impres charger, I got the red flash of death. Not because the impres chip failed but because the charge dropped below a "chargeable voltage". The charger sees this as a bad battery and hence, the red flashing light. I got the batteries free of charge so I didn't bother starting a warranty claim. Instead I put a 7.4vdc current limited supply on the contacts. After about two minutes I disconnected the supply and dropped the battery in the charger. Went straight into conditioning mode. No problems since with the battery or the capacity. Have had to do this on 3 batts and while it gets rather annoying it works. Just worthy of note.

Exactly the same thing I had to do. I got 4 NIB XPR7550e batteries. OEM but had a date code of 2017(Bought them in 2019). Put them in the charger and I got the red flash on all 4. I applied a little voltage to them like a jump start and they charged up without a hitch. Still have them today and they still work great.
