Bayonne FD ONLY going E

I'm getting intel that Bayonne FD ONLY is going 100% E. I can not confirm, but neighboring Cities were getting their radios updated and that was the reason given. Anyone in the area please listen and post your findings.

That's how I got this info, a mutual aid FD was reprogramming their radios to operate on BFD TRS. Like I said, someone needs to monitor to see if this is the truth, I heard BFD yesterday as I was on the NJTP.

I heard it was to fix ERB’s after the NH maydays last week with the dual 4th alarms.

This is disappointing to hear. I got my start to this hobby with Bayonne Police and Fire. Still have my Pro-2023 that I got as a gift for getting a good report card in school. I had Bayonne's radio system down to a science, codes and all. Going to miss hearing them that's for sure. Seems like everyone's going E these days...

Is the reason that they are going encrypted because of a certain induvial? Kinda like the reason that Jersey City did?

Do you mean fire buff when you said "fire box"? If so, I have friends who buff and atleast from where I am, no "big" agency will give you a radio with there encryption key unless you know the right people and have a few friends...

A quick look at the entire system this weekend. Clearly a transition to encrypted is well underway. I see patches up linking clear TG’s to new encrypted TG’s not in the DB. Will be looking further.

Doesnt surprise me. Local PD/FD near me went all E after they had issues with a wacker showing up to scenes.
