While I will not divulge which agencies, there are agencies that say they are 100% encrypted and at times you can hear them loud and clear.
Some agencies have the ability to turn it on and off.

All depends on how you program the subscriber....selectable vs strapped, etc. Most agencies that choose to encrypt something take that option away at the subscriber level. Trust me when I say those of us in the LE community are not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to turning encryption on and off, changing zones, OTAR, having a charged battery, etc. so we tend to K.I.S.S.

It's so funny that you mention that considering that months ago you gave me sh*t for calling people uneducated with radios. But I digress...
And I know how to work my radios, just like I know how to run my guns, or be a pump operator, or set up a radio patch while entering a CAD incident, etc. TRAINING. Yeah, there are dummies in every profession. But don't lump us all in the "I don't know how to change zones" excuse.

Yeah, I do know how to do all those things and I do still stand by the you shouldn't lump us "all" into one category. But like I said, every profession has its share of dummies and yes, that includes "some" of us, but not "all" when it comes to certain tasks.

Good pitch Dave, but just outside the plate.

Welp I never said "all", point was pitched, maybe I'm still salty. To each their own, my experiences will differ from yours. I'll drop it so we can get back on the topic at hand.

Can't say I didn't try....

Bayonne PD and FD totally silent while scanning their trucked system. I’ve been away from the scanner for about a year… this came out of left field.

Been listening to Bayonne PD/FD since I’m 10 starting with a 16 channel programmable.
I guess now I won’t know when somebody is running down my street with a shot gun which happened not long ago.
Oh yeh… I hear the school bus drivers loud and clear!!
