The 246T has been out for a while now.

How does it do when receiving VHF air band stuff, as asked above?

I can pick up local airport ATIS while my Pro-95 can't, but I used the diamond RH77CA antenna, not the original duckie

I've yet to take it out to airport for a real test :D

I think the sensitivity on VHF air is excellent. I use a outside discone and find it receives better than my RS 2005, which I usually use for this. It is as good as my BC780xlt. Wish it had military air though!

The reception on Airband is good, but not with the stock antenna (my opinion). I also really wish that Uniden would come out with a firmware download that would enable UHF Mil-Air!

Air Band close call capture

Twice now I have hooked up my 246 to my car's scanner antenna and have gotten Close Call hits directly from airplanes in flight talking to Nor Cal (SF Bay Area) approach control. Must say this is one cool radio 8)
