BC296 Programming help needed

I bought a BC296 and I'm a bit confused about programming. I have the 13 800mhz frequencies for Bay County, Florida....but I am not quite sure how to set the scanner up to scan them in the trunked mode. I programmed all of them in Bank 1, but the only way I can hear them is in the ID Search mode. When I am scanning, I can see the ID numbers, but don't hear anything. Could someone give me the "Trunking for Dummies" quick version and tell me how to program my scanner so that I can scan all the Bay County PD's?

Press Menu
Press 2 twice
Select Bank
Press E
Press 1
Select On
Press E
Select System Type
Press E
Select Channel Number
Press E
Press 1
Enter Frequency
Press E twice
Use VFO knob to move to next channel
Press E
Press 1
Repeat steps 14-19 (When finished, Press Scan)




Adding Talk Group ID's and Alpha Tags


1. Press Menu-2-2

2. Select Bank-Press E-3

3. Select Location-Press E-1-Enter ID-Press E

4. * Press 2-Enter Alpha Tag-Press E

5. Press Menu

6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5

7. When finished, Press Scan



*Using vfo knob, enter alpha tag (To space forward use the RSM key)(To backspace use the Man/Hold key
