Does anyone know how to do a hard reset on the Uniden BC796D? Have been looking through the manual and found nothing.

Try in google search they might a thing in there. Or go the BC scanner site.

Turn off radio, and hold down the manual button and 2 & 9 buttons, then turn on the set.
You only need 20 fingers but it will reset the entire unit. You need to keep all buttons pushed down and it will show reset on the screen.
