Is there a list of preprogrammed Service List frequencies for the BCD160DN?

Past models of Uniden and Radio Shack scanner user manuals listed these frequencies.

Here are the list of the pre programmed search bands .
RR data is NXDN.
DMR also .
No trunking or P25 .

Uniden really broke down the services compared to the 325p2. Best to learn each service to understand the scanner. I used the edit to look at how it was programmed. Pretty sure proscan can list everything too. Regret selling my 160.

If you do not need P25 they are great little scanners.

Mine arrives tomorrow. Amazon had them on sale a couple of days for 169.99. Even was able to use Amazon 3 equal payments.

I wanted to know what frequencies were preprogrammed to know what to expect from the Service searches. Maybe I can figure that out when I have it.

I also have the BCD325P2, which is great for everything but LSM. I use it for conventional P25 and some non simulcast P25 trunked. I have used it for conventional analog public safety, and definately for civil and military air. For anything not LSM it is the best performing handheld scanner I've owned. Just wish it were a bit larger to allow more than 2 AA cells.

I was interested in the BCD160DN for civil and Military air, conventional public safety and occasional DMR, and maybe some NXDN railroad channels. I thought it may be better use of funds than adding DMR and NXDN to the BCD325P2 or SDS100.

What is contained in these preprogrammed searches is what I am curious about. Mainly for Public Safety. I imagine the Public Safety are not just ranges with one start and stop, but several segments and some individual frequencies as we're done with other Unidens and Radio Shack models. Those older models had addendum sheets that showed what was preprogrammed. The rest of the service searches are pretty obvious. For airbands, I have chosen the 25 KHz option in the software for when I alter mine to how I want it.

I will be changing some of these to favor civil and military air with only 25 Khz steps for 118-137, 138-144, 148-150.8 and 225-400 MHz.

Othert than for CB and Airband, I never use the service search and instead use custom search ranges.

If the Public Safety search is properly programmed for common frequencies, it would avoid unnecessary frequencies present in a custom search range. This is why I would like to know what is preprogrammed. I will try using it to see how well it works.

Received the BCD160DN this morning. First thing I noticed is that on high brightness, the display of the BCD160DN is about the same as middle brightness with the BCD325P2. It appears the display window is tinted, because with the backlight off it is darker than the BCD325P2. Wonder if others see that much difference.

Unlike older models, when using the preprogrammed service search, you can hold and scroll through the programmed frequencies. Easy to see what was programmed, and so far on VHF it is hitting all the legacy local assignments in my area.

Get a usb external battery pack and the proper cable. Can run mine almost 24 hrs straight. Have 4 external batteries.

I have done that with the BCD325P2, but the extra bulk is not very portable. I have been looking through several on Amazon trying to find something thin and no bigger than the outer dimensions of the scanner. Then, there is the cabling bulk.

I got a handwarmer/power pack from Ace Hardware in January '25. Smaller than the 125/160/325 chassis and about ⅔ the thickness, like a bar of Ivory soap. Much easier to carry than the regular power packs, it's basically a dual 18650, possibly 20700, box with optional handwarmer, so 5600 - 6600 mAh depending on what exactly is inside.

I agree about the window being tinted, I struggled to read it without the backlight.

Yes, rather frustrating. The BCD325P2 window is not tinted. If I could find a replacement window for the BCD325P2, I would be very tempted to put it on the 160. I am running the backlight all the time now to see how it affects battery life. I will rig up something soon to check current draw while on batteries.
