You need to look at what would you like to hear the most for your money.
Thats the thing I haven't heard NXDN before I've heard DMR multiple times. You need to look at what would you like to hear the most for your money.
The two public safety NXDN systems here in my area sound very good, and seem to work well for the smaller cities that are using them.Thats the thing I haven't heard NXDN before I've heard DMR multiple times.
I belive Im gonna get the NXDN upgrade. Because I'm enrolled in EMT course currently and want to kinda get a feel of how some of the private ambo companies work from the dispatch side before I decide I want to apply there.
That would be dependent on how the system would be set up. It could be set so that only selected talkgroups are heard on specified sites, not area wide.Is NXDN like Starcomm21(Illinois S/W P25 System) where it only operates on sites it needes to or just all the sites?
Exp: OSF Lifeflight talks to dispatch using whatever site they are near and their dispatch hears it on the site there at. Only them 2 sites are being used.
Ah, you've noticed my inconsistency.Isaiah, I have the NXDN and DMR in my SDS200. I rarely use it. Only very occassionally. Was it worth the money for me, not really. IMHO, if I were you I'd save that money and put it toward a nice amateur mobile radio (as per your other threads). I just don't think it was worth the money to listen to hotels cleaning rooms, a few security guards, or some ambulance transports. The real decision is up to you. But that would be $100+ you could put toward a different radio.
There are a few things you should check:Can someone help me? I have a Uniden BCD325P2 and I have programed using Butel Software and downloading from Radio Reference “Connecticut Land Mobile Radio Network (CLMRN) Project 25 Phase II” . I haven’t anything on this site. The same with “Commonwealth Of Massachusetts Interoperable Radio System (CoMIRS)´ I must be doing something wrong. I sure would appreciate any suggestions to fix this problem. Thanking you in advance for your help.
I am in CT with a 325P2 which works fine on CLMRN.Can someone help me? If it's programmed properly, you should receive them fine.I am in Guilford.
Try re-importing it into the programming software and upload it to the 325P2I am in Guilford. I even listen to it with the search on hopping that would help/
The CoMIRS system is currently only used in the western part of the state and a few users directly around Boston. I doubt you will pick up anything in Danvers. I pick up nothing in Chelmsford.I used both Freescan and ProScan from my BCD996P2 to program the Massachusetts CoMIRS system... I'm in Danvers... I should be able to get it? Not sure if I need the fleet map to be configured? It has nothing on the fleet map part. Just not getting anything.
