when i HOLD the weather (sys 2 grp 3) it plays weather, then advances to sys 3 grp 1, after a delay it goes to a cc whick i have L/O, then it goes to a public safety (30.8600mhz) which i did not program, and holds there. ??? also cc was on by default i guess...went through all cc and turn it all off. now waiting for some activity.

If it stops on weather for a while and then begins scanning again, it sounds like you may have scan delay set to a negative value.
just checked, still on pos 2. the only delay setting i can find is in sys. opts
turn off the weather in group 3

scroll to the system, hit yes
scroll to edit sys option, hit yes
scroll to set delay time, hit yes,
scroll to 2 (it is under 1 sec, there is no negative 1), hit yes
hit scan

i think turning off cc made a differnce. except now some calls are good and some are jerky and intermittent. AND...the virtual control in ARC-XT PRO is logging calls but not breaking squeltch. the logged TGID's are the same as on my cell phone feed.
most of the time ARC-XT PRO will log calls but no audio. then it will log the same TGID with audio. and the audio is choppy. hard to get the full message. but turning off cc i think did make a difference. that's all for tonight.

i would just make different systems and see if some get hits, or which ones don't.
then delete the dead ones.
