I am still having problems assigning light alerts to conventional channels. I read the manual on page 48 and it sounds like it is with the scanner. Can you set the light with the Sentential software? I am finding it very frustrating but it should be easy.
Bill

Open Sentinel.

Go to EDIT>EDIT FAVORITES LIST>SELECT FAVORITE LIST>HIT OK

Left column, expand system you want to set light for. Next select department from left column. You will see the channels on the right (main screen).

You will see the 11th column it says Alert Light. Click on the channel under this column you want to set the alert light for. A box will pop up and there you select your color and flash pateern (I prefer solid).

Note if you want to set a whole dept to the same color, you can copy and paste the whole column.

Hope this helps... :)

Alert Light/LED Bug?

I have set the Alert Light/LED to illuminate on some channels and when receiving on those channels the light only comes on for several seconds and then turns off even though the channel is still active. It appears followup transmissions does not re-illuminate until the scanner resumes scanning again and once again stops on that channel. Is there a way to keep the light on during the entire comm?

I think I remember writing somewhere that is how they designed it? I do believe. Maybe it is editable, though?

It's not a bug. That's how it works.

Just arrived and set up

Just received my 536HP today! Got the firmware updated for the scanner and the Wi-fi dongle, loaded my favorites, and even connected successfully to my wi-fi. Great job on the input selection for wi-fi password. Was concerned about putting mine in because it is incredibly long and complex but it was a breeze and connected first try. Looking forward to beta testing the siren app on my iPad when available. Also have Android phone to test on when that is available. Is there anything we can do with the scanner over wi-fi now? Have a Mac and PC also.

Time to play and learn!

How do I turn off or disable groups that I do not want to listen to at the current point of time.

If by groups you mean departments then one of 2 ways:
--If you are currently scanning the system to which the departments are assigned
then do a decimal decimal dept number. Example: If you wish to turn off PD OPS
talkgroups and they are assigned to department 3 then you would go decimal decimal 3 (..3).
--If you are scanning a different system and/or favorites list than the one in which the departments are assigned then you need to do the full address of Favorites List Number+System+Department.
Example: I have a FL numbered 85. I have 2 systems within FL 85: System 1 is named Wake. System 2 is named Durham. I have the exact same 23 Departments in both systems.
While scanning both Systems I decide to turn off department 5 in system 2. I can type 85.2.5 and it will turn off department 5 in system 2 of FL 85. If I type 85.1.6 then I am turning on/off Department 6 within system 1 of FL 85.
Hope this helps!

Does anyone know the model number of the AC adapter supplied with the BCD536HP? Just wanting to see if it is the same as the 996XT or is it the one for the HP1. Thanks

Amazon offers 12 months same as cash, free shipping, and no tax if a 3rd party vendor (at least for me in KY).

The voltage, mA, and polarity are the same as my 996T and the BC R96T remote head power units. However I do not about the power plug size that goes into the 536BC. I would be surprised if they changed that without a good reason.

I believe they have answered this question quite a few times. It will depend on what your settings are
