Does anyone know a way to input a WiFi password without manually inputting it through the front panel? My WiFi password is nearly 60 characters in length containing random letters, numbers and punctuation and it would take a very long time to input it without making an error.

I don't see how, can't do it through Sentinel that I have seen. One of the drawbacks to a ridiculously long key. Maybe simplify it a little?

Do to the network, changing / diminishing the key is not an option but thanks for your response

To answer your question about two devices having the same IP. In a word no.The first one to grab the IP wins. The other would give you an error duplicate IP address. That is if it the bcd536hp has error reporting. We will have to wait for the app to see how it handles streaming.

Does anybody think that the serial (usb) cable will pass line audio? I assume someday when the ProScans/Butels write new software that's how the data will pass, just wondering if the radio is capable of passing audio through there.

Got My 536 Just in Time!

My 536 came on Tuesday, just in time for the big ice storm here in the Florida panhandle. I had it up and running in time to catch all the local action. Most bridges and overpasses are still closed here today and listening to the LEOs try and keep people at home and off the road has been interesting. This scanner is picking up signals from distances I could not receive reliably before. This is a great piece of hardware and software! No complaints or problems so far.

Good to see another local enjoying the scanner. That make 3 of us in the area with one. Your right it has been crazy around here.

Can anyone tell me whether or not the '536 has a mute function? I checked the manual and couldn't find any reference to one. Given the HP emulation I'd be very surprised if that capability was not included.

Need Some Help

Hi - I am relatively new to these digital scanners and I think I have managed to screw something up. I have the new BCD536 and was attempting to upgrade the firmware as suggested in UPMan posts. Something appears to have gone wrong and now when I power on my scanner it seems it is frozen with the following message -

"City data table read error
Please check
CityTable_V1_00_00.dat
in SD card"

It seems frozen on this screen and I cannot do anything - I'm not sure what I have done or how I can manage to restore factory defaults - this scanner is just out of the box and brand new...

Can someone help me?

m3r1ck,

Same ip, no..... But that won't happen if you are connecting via WiFi. Your WiFi router will assign each radio it's own IP. The same applies to any network device (PC's, iPads, etc..) on your network.

I would just reformat the card and reload your data. I seen that before when my USB mess-up on me an corrupted the card.

I tried that and unfortunately not even that has corrected the issue, but thanks for your effort to help.

If you don't mind, what steps did you take. Missing one can cause it not to work correctly. As a backup, if you have a SD card reader you can format and load up the data that way.
