I am running 4 instances of ProScan right now on a single license. And ProScan (bottom r.) has been sending audio from my 536 on my local network for the last week without a hitch.

The 536 Engineering utility worked just fine for me on Windows 7, 8.1, AND 10.

ps: all of the above runs on an inexpensive (under $300 from Amazon) Asus VB40 "mini" PC with a Celeron 1.5 GHz CPU. I did add 8GB RAM. We place these ViVo's in our client offices to monitor our equipment. After cleaning the errata off, it is a fine performer for controlling all my scanners.

It does nothing but what it was purposed for. Unitrunker is running on a dongle back there, too. SDR and DSD+ work fine when I am in the mood. I like things clean and simple - and control it all via VnC from my Mac :)

Agreed on the assessment of the software :) - they did say it was a test program, so I suspect anything goes.

I'm replying to my own message to let you all know a strange quirk that's going to be a problem for me. I set the Wi-Fi dongle up correctly, then turned the scanner off and back on the next morning. Unknown to me, the scanner didn't reconnect to my internal network, and I found out why. And this is the annoying part. When I was able to check out the Wi-Fi setup info on the scanner, it showed the type of Wi-Fi had changed from infrastructure to access point mode (AP showing on the status screen). Why that happened, I haven't a clue. Why I couldn't check it immediately upon having trouble getting the thing to reconnect is because I'm totally blind and have to rely on others to do stuff like read LCD screens for me, and thos who can (and will) are hard to come by sometimes. However, after that got worked out, everything--VLC, the remote control software, everything--started working great! Now I have to figure out how to make the rc software a little more screenreader-useable, and then I want to figure out how to change the output audio interface in VLC to pipe the thing through one of my mixer channels via the Firewire interface. Still wondering whether the dongle setup will revert to access point mode again if I turn the radio off.

If you run 3 proscan's you spent $100.00 this software was free and works very well whats your point.

It would only be $100 if he used it on more than 2 computer. You can run several instances of proscan on one computer without having to pay for another license.

Try version 8.0 you can do Audio and DATA through URL with no wires and control the scanner too.

Ok someone please help me to get RH-536HP_mkII working on my PC. this is what I see,,

I just tried mine (536HP_mkII) software and got that same screen, then a short time later it kicked in and displayed correctly. Time lag probably due to the fact that I am running URL data and audio into Proscan 8.0 for my feed as a test.

When I connected the test software (536Hp_mkII) via Serial Com 4 at 115,200 baud it was instantaneous. When not running other software using URL there is no noticeable difference between URL and Com connections.

Make sure you get the correct IP address from the scanner info screen and verify you typed it correctly into the Host box. For example mine is 192.168.0.5 for WIFI(UDP) or if I use the other option Serial /USB I am on COM4 @ 115200 baudrate. When using the COM port on the 536 you have to change the default baud rate from 4800 for GPS to whatever you want to use. A few times I forgot to do that after using a GPS and got frustrated before I remembered to change the rear port baud rate.

I tried a trial of PS 8.0 running URL audio and DATA and sometime last night I got an URL Audio error 9. I wonder why yours is so stable and mine isn't.

OK, I admit it, I don't know how to read! :) I saw "ProScan 7" and thought you meant a 7-inch tablet! I've downloaded and installed version 8 which came out just yesterday I think, but now I have bigger problems. Overnight my 536 stopped working. It's all dark, won't restart, time for a visit to the factory for service. It's going to cost me I'm sure.

Try replacing the card first. That is what has solved that issue for others.

Probably a SD card issue. Either pull the card, clear user data or put in a new card. So far all of the weird shut down issues have been card related. Happened to my 436HP yesterday.

Gary, I'll give that a try in the a.m. I don't have a single micro SD card around here; lots of standard-size ones though! OK, so when I replace the card, what do I have to have on it to start with? In other words, I don't just put a blank card in there, do I? Good news though, my computers are up-to-date with the latest Sentinel, so I can use one to re-create a card.

I have used a USB card adapter. Pop the SD card into the adapter, plug that into your computer. Sentinel will see that card as a scanner. You can go from there.

In an extreme case, you might have to format the card and start from there.

It's advisable to have a couple of Class 10 cards on hand. Cards go corrupt and not just in scanners. My wife had a card go bad in her camera on our trip to Hawaii a few years back. Fortunately, she went to a place and the guy was able to retrieve the pictures.

I had a SD card error once. If I'm not mistaken, "SD Card Error" or something similar was displayed on the display. Do you see the error displayed or does it appear the scanner is not powering up?
