I need to send my BCD536HP scanner into Uniden repair for a low signal issue. Can someone tell me when I send it in to be repaired will I get that one back or do they send a replacement? It has Nxdn and DMR upgrades, will I get those back? It also has a lite scratch on the lens, will they replace it?

Normally, unless there's something irreparable in the unit, you would get your scanner back.

I would suggest including a note stating what's wrong (low signal), and also mention the scratched display. I would also include (in the note) a heads up that you do have those two upgrades, in case the repair necessitates the replacement of the main circuit board.

Which has the fastest turn around personal check or money order? Was wondering if a check would have to clear the bank before being repaired. Don’t want to send credit card information in the mail.

I doubt if that will make any difference
Once it is received at Uniden it will go into the repair queue; likely it would be a few days until a tech actually gets it, plenty of time for the check to clear, way before it’s repair is done and it’s ready to be returned to you
