I have tried and tried to get the drivers here to work: https://info.uniden.com/twiki/pub/Unidenman4/BCD536HP/Windows_Serial_Drivers.zip

Windows 11 just simply does not seem to recognize the driver. Even when the manual driver installation is done using the "have disk" option and selecting the downloaded file, it gives an error. Anyone get it to work?

Did you follow the instructions here (including Download and unzip the driver.)

You should just purchase a wifi dongle. $29 online. Will save you all kinds of headaches. I know it works with Proscan software. Nerver tried others

Is your Windows 11 running in “S” mode by any chance? You can’t install third party drivers with Windows 11 in “S” mode

B.S.
No, my understanding is that mode only runs windows store apps, of which I don't have that limitation. I got radiofeed installed just fine.

That's an idea, and probably my next move if this doesn't work. But it just seems stupid to go over wifi when the scanner and PC are literally next to each other connected with an audio cable.

Doug I am running windows 7pro 10pro and 11pro the 996p2 536hp SDS200 325p2 436hp SDS100 all work on each computer.
What is it you are trying to do?
Serial mode with Proscan works with them all.
When you plug a USB Cable into a x36 or SDS the scanner will beep push y/yes to get into Mass Storage Mode to program them.

Shouldn't Win 11 just P&P (plug and play) it?
I have never had to install drivers on a Windows machine for years now.

I suspect this is not a driver problem.
When you plug the radio in, do you get any message on the radio?
You aren't getting a .net error are you?

You do not need the serial drivers if you are running an IP based program like Proscan. It would be used for a direct serial program like a virtual control program.
That said - I've never had an issue installing the driver and have used one since the 1st days of the HP1.

I was looking to connect the scanner to radiofeed with the tags that show what channel the scanner has stopped on. When the scanner powers on and connected via USB, it does ask whether serial or USB, I choose serial. However, when I go to device manager, it shows an unknown USB device.
