I just purchased a BCD996P2 and am programming it with FreeSCAN. I have entered conventional and trunked systems. When I scan, the SO and GRP on the lower part of the display are blank (SO: ---------------, GRP--------------) Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've searched everywhere without success and yes, I have RTFM! Thanks for the help in advance.

I did a little more digging and found out that you have to assign a quick key to each system. Is there any other info I should know?

The bottom 2 lines are the system and group quick key status. There are no quick keys entered into the file. Here is a PDF file which will answer all of your questions about using quick keys. Print it out and save it for your reference.
