Good evening everyone I have 2 uniden bcd996p2 and one is in my living room and the second is in my computer room/shack and I have been using it for a feed and I have been going over the frequency list the last couple days as some of the frequencies where not being used and been missing a lot of calls on it compared to the main 996 so after redoing the list and uploading to the scanner it’s going over the programming but it’s not stopping so I tryed reloading the latest firmware update and reloading the programming list but still no luck
Any help would be greatly appreciated

What program are you using to program the scanner, FreeScan or ProScan, or something else?

Upload your programming .txt or .996 file here so someone can take a look at it. A .996 file would need to be zipped before upload.

If you are missing some frequencies on one scanner and both have the same programming, you may have a group locked out or a quick key turned off. Check the squelch setting on the bad scanner.

No the scanners don’t have the same programming

could be computer room RF interference ?
just enough to block some weaker signals.
try an outside antenna on that one.
my computer gives off some good RF when it has a mostly white screen on it, well it could be the monitor.
i call it my white screen alert.

Antenna is 25-30 feet in the air
It’s a discone antenna with kmr400 cable

The wife just texted me little while ago saying she can hear some one it but never said what all she heard and there was some pop ups for @ProScan when she restarted the computer
1 was Web Server set up input sound device
2 Remote Scanner over IP client
Will have to check things out and I might completely reset the scanner and do up a new program list and check the 2 settings that popped up

How were we to know you have 2 outdoor antennas?
We have to guess that 2 scanners in 2 different rooms are using indoor antennas on each one.

Scanners r in 2 different rooms and no indoor antenna
I just did a hole new program file
Thinking some how a setting might of got changed in ProScan for the feed

On the Web Server popup. That's because the Web Server is checked in the Options Startup tab so It's trying to start but the audio input is set to none. Go to the Audio Control - Web Server tab then select an input then start the Web Server

Whoa! Your programming file is totally messed up! You have TGIDs with no tower frequencies entered, so you will never receive anything on the TGIDs with no associated tower entered. You also have Highways entered 10 times with no associated tower.

Where are you located exactly in Prince Edward Isle, and what tower(s) are closest to you? Would need to know this info before anyone can try and straighten out your programming.

The conventional channels have duplicate entries also in some areas, but otherwise should work once duplicates are removed.

That’s interesting considering that everything was loaded from the DB to Proscan and I went in and deleted any of the doubles or atleast I went through it and said it removed them
I am in Kings County here on PEI but I am able to pick up from charlettotown east as my antenna is about 30 feet in the air out side
And the reason for mutable Highways is that I am mainly trying to have it come up for the calls so people that have the feed line can find out when the plows etc are doing and road conditions

You only imported the TGIDs and not the tower also, you have to import both.

Only one entry for the Highways TGIDs is needed. I'll try and straighten out for you.
