Have you recently monitored CTV on 152.090Mhz? I had heard they had moved to Fleetcom.

Interesting. All operations have moved over to an iDEN system. Not sure who would be left on that old frequency.

You didn't by chance submit a TG to system 1fdd (026-1)? That one hasn't
been used for years...

Also, I'm trying to understand how the fleetmap for Moto System 4218
(C&W #1) can be updated when there has been no activity on it in going
on 2 years. See note that I put in the database from Dec. 2005. It
looks like a system waiting to be shut down. Also note system 473b
in Kingston seems to be gone off the air; there was hardly any activity
on it in the last few years.

Heh heh, yes. The last, um, ALL of the CTV shooters I've come across are using iDEN.

Busted.

Don't think anyone is actuallly "using this frequency..." but the repeater is still on the air...

Check 150.280 for Beck as well. They have 5 frequencies. This one is used downtown.

CTV is totally off of analog these days, they're all on the Harmony 900MHz IDEN system.

Or did the repeater just ID by itself, or get tripped by a bit of interference...?

The repeater may well be still operational but no longer used. The
IC licenses appear to be still active. Sometimes it takes a long time for
these to expire, and the equipment to get taken down or re-assigned.
Perhaps it is a space-holding tactic (spectrum and otherwise).

Under these conditions, I'm not sure how useful posting this frequency
would be if there's no activity, it just ups people's expectations of hearing
something.

Not sure logged a TX with CTCSS tone, then recorded a station ID.

How many TG's listed are programmed on the Trunked Systems listed on this website, confirmed by member....then never used by the agencies...

Should conventional "capabilites" meet a different test?

I will say that the original post did generate alot of current info...t

I'll say this, I only submit frequencies/talkgroups that I've heard audio on. Otherwise I can't confirm who the user is. Most of the other regular contributors to the database follow the same conventions.

Your post did generate 'current info' but the fact is a kind soul went through the database some months ago (specifically the Fleetcom stuff) and pruned out the talkgroups that were no longer active, such as the CTV stuff. Granted, CTV isn't going to show up anywhere in the database but addind a VHF repeater licensed to them that isn't in use is just going to confuse people.

We have a few VHF licenses here that are also not in use...maybe I should submit them? Or our STL microwave frequencies?

Is it maybe possible that some in house stuff uses it?

I don't remember the frequency off the top of my head, but I remember hearing CTV Agincourt security on a VHF channel a few months back.

That's a possibility, assuming of course that Agincourt (or the Temple) has its own security staff and they're not contracting it out. I can't see much of a reason for a VHF frequency to be used within the TV operations...all IFBs and wireless mics will be up in the 500 MHz range (and pretty low power anyway) and anything else wireless (the STLs or even a WiFi network) would be up in the microwave bands.

I suspect, without any more information than what's available here, that the repeater on that frequency is still active because the engineers who would disable it have better things to do than take it down. It's not 'cost effective' to pay an engineer to deal with that when a) the repeater really isn't in use and b) it's only confusing or even of interest to some scannerheads.

...in the meantime, the gradual rollout of HDTV continues and anyone who knows broadcast engineering knows how much brainpower and man hours has been going into that.

Keep in mind that we're talking about a simplex channel not a repeater. What was probably heard was a base station located somewhere in Toronto.

Security is up in the 154's somewhere. I forget the actual frequency.

All other operations are on iDEN including the helicopter.
