Hello all, I'm new to this particular system so I may be missing something. I live in Caistorville area and I have tried to program the Fleetnet into my BCT8 scanner. I tried programming Hamilton, and Cayuga sites into one of the empty banks. Once I program it I can hear the CC clearly but when I attempt to do a search for the active talkgroups near me it will not search. Am I missing something here?

Hi homerjay .
Since you are new to VHF trunking , one hurdle you may have encountered is setting up
the scanner for VHF trunking. Before you enter the freq's for the Fleetnet sites you have to do these steps.

In Motorola trunking mode select E2-Hi , toggle through until you find it, press E
Next set bASE , press E
Select config 1
Change the default, factory set base freq. to 141.015 , press E
Change to default spacing (spc to 15) , press E
Next step is to make sure the offset (OFS) is 380 , press E
Your scanner is now ready for you to enter the site freq's for Hamilton and so on.
When you hit SEARCH now , you should be trunking. :)

I would like to add on to this thread by saying that your problems are very similiar to mine, however mine is a little more confusing...i have Toronto programmed in one bank and Whitby programmed in another (On my 250D). The Whitby CC trunks with no problems, while on the other hand the Toronto site just treats the CC as a voice channel and locks on to it (diesel truck noise). when this didnt work i copied over all the settings from the working bank (Whitby, no i didnt copy over things like frequencies, just all of the trunk bank settings and such) . I tried again and got the same thing....i also notice the Mot. ID wasnt popping up like it does for the Whitby Tower....i am basically baffled on this one since both banks are setup identical minus the frequencies....

EDIT: Used ARC250 to program both the whitby and toronto sites

Since it seems to work on Whitby and not Toronto, the first question is how the
base/offset/step is programmed, including range 2 (which Toronto uses).

I have them both programmed identical...would programming range 2 in the first spot maybe help?
