about 9:30 I heard Sheriff's Office dispatched for a subject running down the middle of the road. I didn't hear exactly what he had done. little later I heard them looking for the same subject. they then called for a K9. before the K9 unit was out, the subject was caught on foot. the deputy called for EMS for a bad laceration to the head and leg. other deputies said they found most of his clothes and weapon (later they said it was a Ruger .22). EMS arrived and called for a chopper. EMS told Med-Comm that he had (2) two 8 inch lacerations to his back with organs exposed all from being caught on wires. next, I heard the deputies talking about coordinating with (I think Winchester) and they were talking to the prosecute on the phone.

anyone know what this person was being chased for? I'll go though the audio when I have time.

he was caught in a field off Broadlane near the school on that road.

11PM -- a State Trooper saw 2 white females in an Eclipse went the scene where the medics were in the field this the subject. they got out of the car, picked up an item and then left. the sheriff's dept is now looking for them.

Hi Mike,

Haven't you seen the video :) It turns out it was a robbery that went bad... for the suspect. Not only did his gun jam, a pizza shop worker wacked him over the head with a chair, someone else took the biggest knife they could find and sliced his legs open. Then they drug him outside. By the time the Sheriff's office got there, he was "running" for his life. And did I mention, he got no money.

By the way what you described is how it played on the scanner. One listening had no idea all the above happened.

They were going to fly him, but the deputies were not too crazy about that. A 25 minute wait for the HELO changed the destination to City Hospital.

The video shown here has made it to the cable networks.

thanks. I saw the new piece on The Journal's site but I didn't think it was the same incident. what was kinda funny was when the dupty that found him called for EMS since he was cut pretty bad on his leg. the dispatcher instructed him to apply direct pressure to control the bleeding. the deputy replied with "well, it's not that bad". you could tell he didn't want to really get too involved.

I hope this will make people think before the try to rob someone else.
