Best scanner to look into, not SDS Series?

If I recall, the max size for a Favorites List is 1MB. Most aren't ever likely to get that close! I mean, you could put the entire NYC entry- all 5 boroughs- from the RR database, and you won't get near that 1MB limit......

Not like I'd want to, being that I'm in rural northwestern California, but hey....... ;)

wow that is very interesting i read the link ... which do you think is better ?
Between the two Unidens I've only owned the SDS100 so I can't firsthand compare non-simulcast related aspects of the 325p2 but two advantages I can think of off the top of my head without having owned one: Smaller, more compact size & its acceptance of AA batteries. However the SDS100's display is much more intuitive & is fully color-customizable

I'd say the SDS units. For speed, they don't look fast, but that's because the screen refresh rate is something like 10 Hz (cycles per second), while they scan at 80 channels per second. Also, for sheer memory, the limitations are bigger than what you'd expect, or likely to ever use.
My RS pro 652 is picking up p25 phase 1 way better than the sds100 i can't even hear the traffic on the 100 it's clear on the pro652 , using same antenna to. i'm trying out the filters but it makes no sense.

Here's a good link to filter information.

What helped me was having my D-error Rate displayed on the screen,as well as RSSI. Mostly used D-error rate and my ear to select the correct filters

Thank you! I think you guys just answered my question... In the market for a new scanner to go along my 436 and was ready to drop the $$$ for a SDS200 with the upgrades, but now I am not that sure. Living in a big metro area (ATL) makes a difference so, I need a good performing scanner.

Ohh come on...

Drop that $$$ for the SDS200. I need someone else, other than me, to complain about it and keep these folks aggravated. Don't be a poor sport 🤣

But really, hope you find a good one that works great for you! Good luck.
