Hi all,

Im looking to buy a ft891 or a ft 710 and i see that both are on black friday sales right now. Do you think i should wait till christmas to get more discount ? Or should i buy it now ? Usually what is the best season that we can expect more discounts ?

Many of the major manufacturers and dealers will have discount prices online during the Dayton Hamvention in May. Other than that, there are some good Black Friday deals out there. Check Ham Radio Outlet, Gigaparts, DX Engineering, MTC Radio, and R&L Electronics.

Buy now. The radio you want today may be discontinued tomorrow and may be replaced by something that is not 'better'.

There are no guaranty of discounts, supplies, or a supply chain from day to day. If the Chinese or the DPRK gets angry, merchant shipping ends in the Pacific immediately.

I bought mine at an end of summer sale at HRO, it was $1 cheaper than right now. That was with an HRO and Yaesu discount,

I would buy now. It may go lower, but if I had waited I wouldn’t be enjoying and making the contacts I have since then.
I am coming up from Ft-897D, so the difference is huge in just the basics of operability.

I bought two Yaesu FTM200D's on sale several months ago at HRO and was waiting for them to go back on sale again to buy a 3rd... only to find out they were no longer available.
