When listening to my feed its abit distorted.

Is this the volume on my scanner is to loud?

The volume on the Oddcast 3 is to loud or to low?

or is it the fact that it is only broadcasting at 16kbs?

The signal of the frequencies is fine.

what should I do to try and eliminate the distortion?

Your volume on your scanner should be about 1/2 way, and the volume on Oddcast should be about 1/2 as well. 16 kbps is the recommended bit rate, but you can try 24 kbps or 32 kbps, but remeber, the higher the bit rate the more processing it requires which will slow down your computer more. Hope this helps!

Playing with my settings too. I have tried different kbps ranges from 16 to 32. What about the Samples Per Second? I have it set at 22050 and audio mode is combined (i.e. not in stereo).

fyi using ProScan

I'm using ScannerCast and dont even have to worry about Sample Rate or anything like that. Its the easiest program I ever used. Even easier to use then oddcast! And the best thing, its free. Try it out, i'm sure you'll like it alot.

Thanks

I too use Scanner Cast. Beautiful program and works So much better than Odd Cast. Whether your providing a Single or Stereo feed I recomend it. The absolute most wonderful thing on it, is you can log into it as you would Radio Reference and it finds your feed and sets it up based on the configuration set up by Gordon. You don't really have to do much to it. And if your streaming with a Uniden or GRE scanner it will dispaly your Text tags on Win Amp for the listeners.
