Hello all i had everything working great for almost 3 weeks great audio no hum then saturday i dont know what i did, now my hum is back I've unplugged wal warts to try and get rid of the hum then work on the input audio but the dam hum wont leave, i must be very patient cause i have been battling this over 4 hours with no luck.
Whats crazy everything was working great no hum, great audio on feed then bam it all came back.

Whats the trick on the low audio end cause i'm gonna find out whats causing this hum, when i had it working 4 weeks ago i kept unplugging and plugging stuff in and the hum on the audio finally quit, everyone who's listening said the input audio is awesome.

about at my whits end, is this stuff really that complicated??

Thanks

How is your scanner connected to your computer? Are you using a single stereo cable from the scanner's speaker or line-out jack? Does your computer have any input gain settings that might need adjusting? Do you have another audio cable you can try? How familiar are you with your computer's sound card settings? Also, what feed software are you using?

Hum is usually caused by a ground loop. You can buy a ground loop isolator on Amazon for around $10. There are different brands but they generally look like this

its connected by a audio cable going from scanner to a USB adapter for the line in, since my laptop dont have a audio line in, I've already tried 2 cables and same result, laptop dont have a sound card, using radio feed software, i had it working great for 3 weeks then i pushed something and cant get my results back to where they were with great audio out from broadcasify, this project has really tested my patience!!

Maybe open the Control Panel and check your sound settings. Under the sound input device, see if there are any gain or microphone preamp adjustments. Also, how is the scanner connected? Are you using the headphone jack or the record/line out jack?

the isolator did the trick audio is amazing, should have bought that from the start, next question when i click connect on radiofeed now i get something that pops in the status box at the bottom of the radiofeed software, says "mountpoint in use" I do remember typing my feed number in the box where it says Broadcastify FEED id number, and i can no longer look at how many listeners i have, i know thats minor but always neat to see how many are actually listening, any suggestions on this....Thanks again for suggesting the isolator!!

Mountpoint is use means the system is already receiving signal for that stream. Make sure you don't accidentally have 2 instances of your stream software running.
