Blair County EMS identifiers

Blair county is changing identification of EMS units for the county. Attached is a list of proposed changes.

Then again I still use the old numbering for my county.

It’s somewhat of an improvement. AMED now has to say the following when responding, 431ALS, 431IALS OR 431BLS to advise 911 of the staffing level. Kinda going back in the times, especially with the amount of technology available.

I don't know why ems units cant log on with county at beginning of their shift. Most services now a days are paid staffed and can just be logged into the cad in service at staffing level.

We have mounted MDT in each unit that communicate with 911. So not sure why it isn’t happening.

And some counties like westmoreland will not allow field units access to the cad.

I like staffing given manually over the radio for fire/rescue units. But that’s crazy to require it for a paid EMS bus.

I’ve always hated anything with -1, -2… or the alphabet soup. So to me this is an improvement. Granted I’m not in that area often to listen.
