If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone know of a bluetooth Remote Speaker Mic (RSM) that works with both the APX series of radios as well as the XPR series? I have found Motorola RSMs on eBay and other retailers but there does not appear to be one that works with both. Since they are rather expensive I was hoping to buy a single RSM and use out with both my APX6000 and XPR7550e.

The operations critical version of speaker mic will connect to both TRBO and APX. The mission critical mics with the blue dot will NOT connect to trbo radios.

I believe the earpieces are interchangeable however the mics are not. They connect to the radio in different ways.

Thats not correct as I currently have an operations critical mic connected to my APX and can disconnect it and pair with my TRBO. The blue dot version of mic requires mission critical close contact pairing.

No problem. Love how text can sometimes be misconstrued.

To add a little more detail to the above.
The mic I have for my APX7000 is a PN. PMMN4096B. No Blue dot.
I can confirm that it will pair with both XPR and APX handhelds with Bluetooth.
When programming the APX you need to select BLUETOOTHE PAIRING TYPE: Standard or LFMPP or Standard.
Of course YMMV

Thanks for adding this. It helps clarify which RSM works with both radios
