Every three-letter agency I've tried to monitor in the past ten years has been 100% encrypted so what's the point, other than "hey I'm hearing enc P25 activity on (insert agency name here), they must be close by doing something."? I used to live on the US / Mexico border back in the early 1990s, and at that time they were 50% encrypted but today it is 100% from my observations.

BP are federal officers and they can be anywhere in the U.S. Since they are not actively seeking and deporting illegal aliens because of current administration policy, most likely they are working with a task force of state and local agencies doing drug interdiction.

I am not sure where you are getting your information from, probably Fox news. Under the Obama administration there have been more deportations of illegals then under President Bush! Look it up for yourself. The seeking and deportation of illegal aliens has been going on for the last eight years. Just so people reading this get the RIGHT information!

And there we go.. Into political crud. Please take that to the other areas and lets not get this thread locked due to ranting raving flaming insanity. TY guys!

As an person that has been all over, I have seen CBPs BP units in at least 20 states. The main jurisdiction is the 100 Mile limits, but they can operate within close ranges of any airport, tranit center, port of embarcation. Any place that is an open doorway to foriegners is open game. I have seen them at Jackson MS at the transit center waiting on Greyhound, and Amtrak. In addition, they do work with DEA, BATF, and the lil sister ICE a lot on task forces and other activities. And you also see them on missions to Centers of Higher Learning and High Schools to spread the good word that a career is available lol.

I saw a Border Patrol vehicle a few years ago in little Batesville, Arkansas. There is a large Latino population in town on account of the chicken processing plant, maybe that's why they (BP) were there.

I have seen the green border patrol vehicles on I49 between Shreveport and Texarkana, but closer to Shreveport. I've seen them more than once in that same area.

Also when I say green, I'm talking about the sticker on a white vehicle reading border patrol agent. The same ones that I have seen down in the valley of Texas and always near 59 and I 35 around Laredo.
