I've been tracking down a loss of reception issue with my BCD 436 and it occurred to me that there may have been some changes to the lineup for TXWARN Brazoria County. I live about a mile from one of the towers, yet, what few transmissions I get are chopped and digitized indicating that I'm probably getting only a distant signal. I have checked the database and it appears that several of the sites for Brazoria County are not listed any longer. Angleton, Freeport and Brazoria (the closest sites to me) are not listed in the DBF any longer. Have they migrated, because the scanner picks up well on the local analog and Dow Chemical's Phase II P25 system? I'm stumped.... Thanks in advance.

Those sites were from the Motorola analog system 2318 days. Brazoria County should be operating on the Brazoria County simulcast which m, depending on your location in relation to the different sub-sites, could be causing your distortion issues. The 436HP doesn’t handle P25 Simulcast very well at all. Try locking onto the Simulcast control channel and experimenting with moving it around in your location until it gets a good signal. The multiple signals coming in microseconds apart wreak havoc on most scanners.
