It appears that Brea Fire is now being dispatched by Metro Net. Previously they were dispatched by Brea PD.

"The Brea Fire Department is now being dispatched by MetroNet Fire
Communications on Dispatch channel 2-E (3056) .

Brea Fire units will respond to non-fire involved calls within their
city on 2-A (560) which was their previous dispatch channel. Brea Fire
will now utilize MetroNet channel 2-N (3664) for structure fires and
major incidents to be able to coordinate with other fire units within
the net.

Ambulance service for the city of Brea has changed their radio call
signs to "Brea Ambulance One" etc. instead of using the name of the
ambulance company to comply with the protocol of the other Ambulance
services under contract within MetroNet.

I was covering that large commercial fire in Fullerton the other day, and I noticed the Chief Suburban said Fullerton Fire Dept Brea and a couple of the guy's turnout coats also said the same thing. Have they been absorbed into Fullerton?

They share command staff. The BC's and DC's and up to the Chief are shared, but the cities each keep their own departments, union contracts etc.

The bulk of the command staff comes from Fullerton, including the Chief.

The fire chief has the weirdest name I have ever heard of.
