1400 South Santa Fe, armed robbery at a gas station. Weapon is a knife. Suspect running up the street north from the gas station.

A store clerk thwarted a would-be robbery late Saturday night.
Salina Police Lt. Wayne Pruitt tells KSAL News that around 8:30 in the evening a person wearing dark clothes, with a hood pulled up over his head and a skeleton Halloween mask over his face, entered Rod's Total convenience store on South Santa Fe. The person showed the clerk a knife and demanded money.
The clerk refused to hand over any money, and told the would-be robber that he was going to call 911. The person in the skeleton mask then fled on foot. He was last seen running north on Santa Fe.
Anyone with any information on this crime is asked to call Salina Police at 826-7210 or Crime Stoppers at 825-TIPS.

Hostage situation in north wichita going into its 5th hour. No details as to the reason why but shots fired at local PD. SWAT, FIRE and EMS staging.

SWAT takes out power, deploys gas, and is now sweeping the house. Entry is made thru basement, Sweep is clear - proceeding to main floor (suspecting he has moved to 2nd floor)

Currently suspect is still talking to negotiatorthru mega phone and is wondering why PD has fired at him... (Big DUH)

SWAT is currently staioned on main floor while suspect is held up on 2nd floor.......

So far Police Copter is staying close to my neck of the woods preparing to light up the area.

2 Baricade busters deployed, one has made it thru.

After I went to bed, My wife informed me that the suspect was finally arrested after 12:30 or 1:00AM.

Apperently they baited him with his sister to get him to calm down. After that he was rushed by SWAT in the house.
