Johnson County Sheriff and KHP are looking for a subject who fled from them in the area of I-35 and Sunflower road, Lenexa and Olathe are providing K-9 support. KHP is trying to determine if it's safe enough to launch a helicopter. This event has been going on for a while, if I hear anything more, i'll keep everyone posted. Also, it's on my live scanner (link below).

It sounds like the subject from the above post is an escapee of some sort from Franklin county, they aren't being terribly specific about charges or why they are looking for him. It sounds like Lenexa's K9s are getting tired and they are about to leave the scene, but the SO and KHP are continueing the search with Olathe PDs help. They do have 2 helicopters flying air support, one belongs to KHP the other I think is from KCMO but i'm not sure because i'm not copying their traffic at all, it's being relayed through JOCO dispatch. More if I get it....

Authorities Arrest Three People in Johnson County After Robbery, Chase With Shots Fired
JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. - Merriam police took a man into custody Wednesday morning at a Merriam motel after he allegedly robbed a convenience store and rode in a car that led police on a chase.
The man allegedly robbed the Casey's General Store in Wellsville at about 9:30 p.m., then jumped into a getaway car driven by a woman, according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
They led officers on a chase into Miami and Johnson counties, firing several shots at authorities and busting out the rear and side windows of an officer's car, authorities said.
The man bailed out of the vehicle near Edgerton.
The woman kept driving south on Interstate 35, but she eventually hit Stop Sticks and pulled over, according to authorities.
Officers took her into custody.
Johnson County and Franklin County sheriff's deputies, along with police from Lenexa, Olathe, Gardner, Wellsville and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers set up a perimeter and conducted a house-to-house search but didn't find the man.
Merriam police caught to him Wednesday morning at the Dutch Maid Motel at Merriam Drive and Antioch Road. Johnson County sheriff's deputies also took a second woman into custody at the motel.
A spokesman for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office identified the woman suspected of driving the car as Kelley Elizabeth Lane, 18, of Johnson County. It wasn't immediately clear whether prosecutors had filed any charges against her.
Authorities hadn't yet released the name of the man or the other woman by noon Wednesday.

KSN is reporting a shooting in Derby, KS.
Nov. 20- Derby Police are investigating a shooting at the Dillons Store on North Rock Road in Derby. Initial reports from the scene indicate a 56-year old man was shot in the chest.
He was taken to a Wichita hospital in very critical condition.

Police were waiting for the man's family to be notified Sunday night before releasing his name.
Police said the man had threatened the Derby officer with a knife. The officer was responding to a child abuse report made by someone at the store, police said.
The officer, a four- or five-year veteran on Derby's force whose name also was not released, fired a single shot at the man.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation will lead an investigation of the shooting.
Police interviewed more than a dozen eyewitnesses Sunday night.
Derby police Lt. Jimmy Queen said the officer was put on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure when an officer has shot someone.
Queen said this was the first time in at least a decade, and perhaps ever, that a Derby officer has fired a weapon at a person.

Salina Fire Command has made contact with Tony's Pizza maintenace on their radio system. Maintenance has leak isolated and contained. No assistance is need with the leak. Only need medical assistance.

I'm still trying to figure out what in the world Tony's Pizza, a large frozen FOOD processor, would use that much anhydrous ammonia for. No wonder that last deep dish pizza tasted a little "tangy" Surely they don't still use ammonia chillers do they?....n0lqt -.-
