Anodizer,IPD Indianapolis Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Department have merged into IMPD(Indianapolis Metro Police Department) There are now scanners on the currrent scanner market that are Digital and you will need one of those in order to hear IMPD, Fire, EMS. I would recomend that you look into buying a Uniden BC 996T which is a Base/Mobile unit or a handheld Unit Uniden Bc 396T. If you have a analog scanner after MAY 27,2008 The scanner will pick up aircraft, ham radio, etc but IT WILL NOT PICK UP IMPD!!!

Power Outages

What is going on with all the power outages in Hamilton Co.? I heard that 30,000 people are without power, though that may not be limited to the county.

There are a lot of traffic lights out and fire alarms being set off.

haven't heard anything about it....I live in Carmel, i have power right now and have all day. When I was out earlier, I didn't notice and stoplights out.....this was just in Carmel though.

When you bring that link up and it says at the top click for map of outages move your mouse over the map on the dots where the outage is and it will give you how many are out in that area and a time of power to be restored also on that link during big outages it will tell how many out total and how many have been fixed.

Frankfort and Clinton County are working a serious accident on IN-28. By the sounds of it, it involves a semi and a utility truck. They have transported 1 by Dove Flight to Methodist and may have a fatality on the scene but unable to confirm it.

Working aparment fire in the 1600 block of W Abington Way in Indianapolis. This is near 47th and Georgetown on the nortwest side. Pike Twp Fire has command. Second alarm went out a few minutes ago, though it sounds like they may have the fire contained to just one apartment unit. Fire traffic on MC OP11 (analog). Police traffic is on MET NW1 (analog).

[the next day] According to news reports this morning, the fire may have been intentionally set to cover up an assault and attempted murder.

Hancock Co Sheriffs Dept had a cruiser stolen, suspect now in custody but it was a heck of a chase, HCSD, Greenfield PD, Cumberland, ISP, Foirtville and McCordsville all in on the takedown. It was on CH 13 & 6. Suspect being treated for gunshot wound, dog bite and taser.... talk about the "full treatment".... bet he won't steal a HCSD car again!

I doubt that, he tried to run over one deputy and then rammed another..... he'll be lucky to get less than 20 years..... two charges of attempted murder, and that doesn't count the stealing the cruiser, drug possesion and other offences.... he's gone... It's too bad we have to pay to give him 3 hots and a cot though.

The news are doing there more at 11, since all the HS kids wont have a summer job now. :roll:
