I put in 453.400 recently to my scanner and have heard a lot of what sounds to be law enforcement activity calling into "Broome". I see this freq is commonly used with DOCCS and a search of the freq only brings up the generic Broome County license. Can anyone shed more light onto what this is used for in Broome County? (Also not listed in the DB)

I've noticed this as well

I was under the impression it was a fire service of some sort. City marshal, inspector...?

453.4000 is licensed statewide to DOCCS (formerly DOCS), although there are other municipal users here and there. "Broome" would be the Broome County Correctional Facility, which is listed as a maximum security state prison.

Nope. I found out it belongs to Broome County Security Services after some fairly simple research. I should have mentioned it sounded nothing like typical corrections radio chatter.

My mistake

I read the number wrong.

There is a frequency similar to 453.4 which I believe the city of Binghamton or Broome county uses. I can't think of it now but I occasionally hear them calling out at addresses around Binghamton if I'm not mistaken.

I've heard the frequency quickcall asked about being used by Georgetown correctional facility.
