Not sure if anyone else has been hearing it but the Buckfield highway dept still has one of their trucks with a stuck mic. 155.925 has been getting a dead carrier thrown over it for 10 minutes at a time. That is an incredible duty cycle on that repeater seeing as how they have been doing this for a couple years now and the repeater has not burnt up. I emailed them about it and they don't seem to be any bit concerned. They must have a lot of money to burn out there to keep a repeater going in addition to radios with stuck mic's and then to not even use the radios to actually communicate. Sadly, I have to keep locking that frequency out of the scanner which also happens to be Albion Fire Dispatch which I like to listen to because I have many friends that live in that town.

why not set up the PL if you can. they are different.
i would also hate to think it is a birdie in your radio on that frequency and that is why they don't care as they don't hear it.

Its Buckfield. I originally thought it was Albion Fire as they sit on the same frequency but I contacted them and they said they havent been having issues. Then I found it was buckfield by putting that frequency in my 2 way. They have a radio that has a mic that stays stuck open. Every time they start up the truck it transmits and times out until they shut it off again. Knowning them, they probably went the cell phone route for comms like most highway departments and have no idea that they have a radio transmitting in their truck. Just seems like a waste of a repeater. I say, take it all down and give it to me, I will make better use of it. And I dont have PL tone capability on my scanner. I see no need to invest in an expensive scanner when everything I listen to is analog and probably will stay that way until First Net takes over comms for public safety.

Are you sure it's not Lee Dpw? You seem to be a little closer to them.

It's definitely buckfield. I know that because of the pl tone matching up and because of the spot that I live in. I pick up signals clear out the Mount Washington very well. Everything to the North, east, and some of the South I can't even hear because of the hole that I live in. I wouldn't be able to pick up the town of Lee from where I am if my life depended on it. I have a hard time hearing stuff off of the towers in dixmont and I'm only 12 and a half miles from that Tower as the crow flies

That info has to be wrong because I receive them here in Thorndike like their repeater is sitting right up the road from me.
Probably could not get licensed on VHF up at that summit, just like Bridgton that has a ERP of like 2 watts on Pleasant Mt. I highly doubt it's running at legal power.

If anyone wanted to listen, It is currently 0944 and Buckfield is dead keyed again. I can hear some fluttering on the signal.

edit: the repeater is going on 15-20 minutes keyed so far.

I can CONFIRM that the Buckfield PWD on Frequency 155.925 PL 127.3 is alive and stuck on the repeater and someone or something is holding the mic down or actively activating the repeater, Im in Lewiston!
