Engine 225.. Just to reassure you, read post number 191, 200, 202, 203, 209, 211, 213 and 220.
Actually I and others have received multiple confirmations from unnamed sources that we didn't feel was worth putting in this thread. Actual Communication in writing from the county to some confirmed it. If you have any questions it is recommended by the county that you contact your chief with any concerns until all of the work is done on fire and EMS radios to make them capable of receiving not transmitting encrypted police transmissions. The word on that is it's going to take quite a long time but until then Tac 1 through 5 is unencrypted for interdepartmental use.
The confirmations given to me and others by those in the know is that encryption is indeed permanent and a letter from you or anybody else is not going to change that. The original poster might consider closing this thread, but that is up to him.
Nothing would make me happier than to be absolutely wrong and that I and others have been totally punked in an elaborate practical joke or the county was to reverse the decision and open up comms... any further questioning the authenticity of this very unfortunate news would simply be unwelcome trolling.
