Ok, got enough traffic now - feed is actually usable even though the tower isn't the strongest. Can even hear planes on the ground - weakly of course. So you are almost there.

Can you tune up the ATIS and try to see if honing in on that would help position the beam, even though it may not be exactly in line with the tower..

I do think I am missing some airborn aircraft due to the high directionality of the beam, but so far this is a good start..

Can you borrow a 780XLT or my personal VHF air fave the RS 2045 just to see?
I have to believe even a Pro 43 would be better.
I'm sure you are in the attic because you have to be, right?
Only 6 miles from the airport I think you should be doing better. I won't run anything lesser than LMR400; possibly another 1.5 DB over a 100' run of the RG6 and better shielding.
