Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew which police district is #6. I believe they operate on the West site. Does anybody know the other police district numbers in the county?

On the new system, there is no 'zone-6' anymore (as I believe). They go like this:

North Central P–1
North West P–2
North Central P–3
North P–4
North East P–7
West P–8
North Central P–9
North West P–48
County Wide P–75

There are still a few sectors of the county that are not online yet. This list reflects only the current 'active' patrol zones & the site of the system they operate on...

Thank you all for the help. Yes, there are still a few police departments that I believe are still not online (note I'm only assuming this because I hear them on conventional frequencies). Mount Laurel, Cinnaminson, Maple Shade, and Moorestown police Departments operate on conventionals. I am not sure, however, if these are just simulcasts from the TRS or what.

By the way, what is talkgroup P-48? Also what is Ch. 6 that is listed in the RR database as TGID 16144.

You know I notice that when I monitor the system, I receive talkgroups that are out of the system. For example, when monitoring the Burlco West system, in search ID mode I receive TGID 23280 which is the Northeast Response 1 talkgroup, where I pick up a motor vehicle crash on Rts 70 & 72. I would think that is well out of range of the West control channel. Do several control channel towers pick up the same thing at the same time?

Yep, welcome to the wonderfulness of SmartZone systems!

If a unit transmitting is close enough to be picked up by a neighboring zone, that zone will carry the traffic as well as his home zone.

Great waste of TX bandwidth, isn't it? :D

P-48 are the bridge patrol units...

You have a point there. These trunking systems were supposed to reduce the amount of radio spectrum used but this new system Burlington county has uses 5 times the frequencies as the old convential system. The coverage is much improved, I will say that. Seems the idea of conserving radio spectrum went out the window, though it does save spectrum in some other cases, just not this one. Too many sites...

My buddy who was the system administrator for /\/\ tried to talk them out of the way the system was deployed, especially the whole 'independent TGID's for every zone', but they didn't want to hear it.

This system is almost as over-engineered as the Nassau County EDACS system in NY. Have you ever seen their entire system TGID lists?

Moorestown is definately on conventional UHF as opposed to the TRS. They're on the same freq as West Chester, Pa. PD, which can cause some bleedover around the area of Marple/Newtown High School in Delaware County. (Suffice to say the Moorestown signal is really strong compared to other South Jersey signals.)
