GLENWOOD SPRINGS (AP) - A father and son on a hunting trip died after their vehicle plunged about 700 feet off a steep mountain road near Glenwood Springs.

Authorities in Garfield County believe the crash happened just before midnight Sunday. On Monday, someone passing by the area known as Windy Point reported seeing a vehicle off the road.

Rescuers and the deputy coroner have confirmed that there were two bodies at the site - a 9-year-old boy and his 41-year-old father. Both live in Lakewood.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Tanny McGinnis says rescuers are still working to recover their bodies in cold, snowy conditions.
