Butel 996T connecting to RR

I just bought the ARC 996T Pro software and the USB 1 scanning cable from Scanner master. I will not buy from them again. After spending hours trying to resolve one issue, I cannot connect to ANY live support person at Scanner Master; They simply put you thru the phone options game then refer you to somewhere else. NO LIVE PERSON unless you want to buy something of course.

I simply cannot get my software to connect with the Radio Reference web site to download frequencies. I get the "sign in" option, I get a notice that there was a response from RR, but when I click on the STATE tab it is blank. The software appears to connect to RR, so it says, but no way to see and download anything.

Has anyone else had this issue? I do not know where to go with this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Greg.

I've had great luck for several years with Butel software. I've always downloaded it rather than buy the disc, but both ways should work. First scanners I used them for were the Uniden 780 and 250, and almost everything else since. Also, Gommert is often at the Dayton Hamvention for those of us able to get there and is very helpful. I love the stuff!

Thanks all for the help. I spent 13 hours over 2 days working this issue, and it was all because of an outdated program I was sent.

Not getting the absolute most recent version of software when one orders a "hard copy" versus download version, is quite common for all computer software.

A nice thing about Butel software is that you get free updates if their software is changed. (There is even a box you can check where the software will automatically look for more recent versions at start up.)

All you need is the registration key for the original software to register the later updates. So holding on to the key is very critical for future reference.
