BUTEL ARC246 PROGRAM

I purchased the Butel ARC246 program for my Uniden BC246T- I downloaded the program and the dealer emailed me the registration # and key # to register the product so I would have full use of it. When I entered the information it does absolutely nothing. Now Ive opened the "demo" version so many times it wont let me upload or download anything to the scanner. Any ideas on what may be wrong? Im thinking the dealer I purchased it from gave me a wrong registration code.

Just a thought... do you possibly need to uninstall the demo version before using the full version?

No. The demo version is supposed to update to the full version when you enter the registration code.

i was wondering the same. I have the demo version installed as of now. I would think the demo version would stay on the pc when you loaded the full version. That way the 5 systems you have already programmed would be saved.

sorry for the two posts in a row but I got a question.

I am going to buy the arc software when my 246t arrives, should be this next week sometime. If I buy the download version, can I download it on more than one computer or is it only good for one download. I want the CD version so that I can use it on my computer at work and my personal pc. And if I get a new computer in a couple of years, could I still download or must have CD?

Im thinking they have tight control over the program and it will only work on one computer, but I could be wrong. When you buy it, they give you a registration key to give you access to the full version and I only think it works one time. Problem with mine is it never worked. So I have to wait till Monday to call someone and raise cain with them........

You CAN install it on more then one computer. There is no way to keep you from doing this. If you're having problems then your best bet is to ask Butel.
edit: BTW did you include the dashes (-) in the key? If not then you need too.

The registration details must be entered exactly as they were send to you,
you do not need to uninstall the demo first.

Ok.....Well I have entered the code exactly like they sent me, including the -'s. Appearantly they sent me the wrong code. I will have to take it up with them Monday morning.
The program itselt is great. It still lets me enter all the information but I'm just not able to download or upload an of it to the scanner. :evil:

Just got off the phone with Scanner Master. They made it good. They accidently mis typed the registration code. An honest error. Anyway they got it straight and all is good now.

Is it better to buy ARC246 from the Kagi website or scannermaster for an online download?

I bought mine from Scanner Master. I have high speed internet so I downloaded it in no time at all. Pretty straight forward.

I'm sure there's other thread, but I'll post the question here.

I keep trying to label the trunked frequencies for a system, with the tag "1D21", as that's the system ID. ARC246 refuses to let me use this, for whatever reason. I have other ID's that are similar, but this one doesn't work. It's not a big deal, as it's only in the software, but does anyone know why it won't let me use that tag?
